“The NINE Lives of Denim”
This is a competition to showcase the students’ ability to reuse and recycle garments made from cotton denim into viable new garments.
Winning garments will be awarded monetary scholarships.
Students must take old denim garments that are at the end of their natural lifecycle and redesign,
reconstruct, deconstruct and embellish the garment(s) into a new, usable garment.
The students’ should NOT sew a garment from new denim yard goods.
REMEMBER: This is a recycling and re-purposing competition.
Think outside the box-jacket parts made into skirts, pants made into jackets, jackets redesigned into more useful, timely and relevant jacket styles.
Creativity is the key. Have Fun!
