Keynote Speaker

Career Day's 2008  Keynote Speaker is: Abi Ferrin

Abi Ferrin has been designing clothes for 21 years. The first designs began on her mother’s sewing machine when she was in first grade. Abi was born in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is a descendant of the first Pioneer’s to the beautiful Teton frontier. The freedom that these settlers sought is still something that defines her and emerges in the clothing she designs. This can also be seen in the diversity of the various women she dresses including Hollywood’s finest celebrities, British CEO’s and Logisticians, to Saudi Arabian princesses. She is passionate about empowering women through her designs, and has used her company as a tool to assist and finance causes worldwide which help oppressed and abused women overcome these atrocities and become self sufficient members of their societies.

In 2006, her cousin Lisa Streidl joined forces with Abi contributing key strategy and momentum to take the company to the next level. Abi Ferrin most recently was named the Top Texas Designer of the Year by Stanley Korshak and the Dallas Fashion Incubator in a statewide competition.

Dallas Modern Luxury also named her one of twelve "Fresh Faces in Fashion" which will preview in the next issue of Modern Luxury. Other exciting projects that Abi Ferrin has been involved with recently include style elements of Jaime Foxx’ music video ‘Unpredictable’ directed by Hype Williams. She has also appeared as a host and guest stylist on E!, The Style Channel, Fashion Television, and many local news broadcasts around the country.
